Somewhere In Time (Part 1)

Do you remember when we first met?

We were young and foolish but we had dreams that we wanted to conquer. We were just ten then and we sat together in class. I remembered how we first interacted and you were sweet and gentle. I was not in best terms with the others in class but you were unlike them. You showed me kindness and sincerity that I had not known existed. It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship that forever changed me.

Do you remember how we got closer?

A year had passed and we ended up in the same class again. We were seated next to each other and time flew during school. We had secret conversations while the teacher was teaching, but we managed to escape the death stare from him. I remembered the first time I made you smile and how addictive it was. Your smile was brighter than the shooting stars at night. We became closer and ended up as best-friends.

Do you remember our last year of primary school?

It was one of the toughest periods for us as we were not doing well. We were always failing and we felt incompetent. We were unsure on how we could make it to the next level of education. The teacher had to separate us in class as we could not stop talking to each other during her lessons. Maybe that’s why we were not excelling because we were too caught up in our own world.

  1. I read through all of these and you put together a wonderful story so beautifully! So sad at the end, but it is a reminder that there are people that touch our lives forever, even if they were part of it for just a moment in time.

    • Thank you very much for the kind comment. It means a lot to me. It is a reminder for us all that we should be appreciative with what we have and even though a relationship ended, they will always be a part of our life. Glad to know that you like the short story 🙂
